Abstract: | In the present trends, use of the converters in the power electronics systems for rectification such as AC-DC converters which are essential part of Drives, Battery Chargers, UPS etc. working as non-linear loads have been increased, which causes low power factor and injection of harmonics into the system and causes distortion of line voltage as well heating of equipment or damage to the equipment. Many techniques have been proposed to mitigate the harmonics as well to improve the power factor at input side. Out of all this technique, hysteresis based current control, SVPWM and multi carrier PWM technique are widely used due to simplicity and fast response. In SVPWM technique for front end converter sufers from circulating current due to switching of zero voltage vector. This Project look towards the mitigation of above problems using multi carrier PWM scheme without zero voltage vector to get desired output voltage. Additional advantage implementing this scheme, we can get the low %THD and unity power factor at input side. |
