Abstract: Direct Vector Control of Induction Motor requires precise estimation of parameters associated with it in order to control induction motor in a closed loop. To determine parameters of induction motor various traditional and proposed tests are simulated on various induction motor model in MATLAB Simulink. Hardware implementation of these tests is done on 1 HP 3 induction motor available in lab. Parameters of the Induction Motor are estimated through offline estimation technique. A new strategy is proposed for estimating stator resistance (Rs) & stator inductance (Ls) using an inverter. For estimating stator inductance (Ls) ,magnetizing inductance (Lm) and rotor resistance (Rr) single phasing test is done. The parameters are calculated using formulas and compared with parameters for a specific machine model from MATLAB simulink. Parameters determined are then implemented in direct and indirect vector control scheme. Vector control scheme is simulated using determined parameters on 3 induction motor. ARM Controller is used as interfacing hardware. STM32F407VG is Cortex M4 series ARM controller is used, whose architecture is studied along with datasheet and reference manual.
