Abstract: In present days, the accurate power measurement is as important as the generation of power. The measurement of power at high voltage, high current and high frequency is difficult because the high frequency signals sensing is difficult. It is concerning towards measurement of voltage, current and power factor at high frequency such as 1 MHz. The objective of the project is to make measurement device circuit which can measure 0-2300 V, 0-40 A and power factor at 1 MHz frequency signals. The power factor measurement can be done through different methods. The measurement board used analogue based circuit. The Current Transformer (CT) and Potential Transformer (PT) are designed for such high inputs at 1 MHz frequency. The current transformer and potential transformer can be used as very important part of the closed loop for control circuit in high power high frequency applications the design of which is a challenging process. The design includes, the selection of core which renders huge effect on transformer characteristics at high frequency. The selection of core consists of selection of core material and core size. The PT and CT step down the high voltage and current to the lower value so that it can be easily fed into the measuring board. With these current and voltage signals the RMS current, RMS voltage, apparent power, real power and power factor are measured in measurement board. Thus completing the fabrication of the measurement device circuit. It is tested upto 1 kW.
