Abstract: Non-linear loads are principal contributors to power quality issues. this makes the power factor to poor and it directly affects on power circuits and efficiency. Good quality of power is required for the power supply and especially for single phase power applications ,switch mode dc to dc converter is commonly used which is also known as power factor correction circuits . basically in ac to dc conversion the input ac supply current is nonsteroidal and peaky because of capacitor. this peaky current results in power quality issues , which include higher value of THD on supply current and voltage, also a poor power factor , low displacement factor and poor distortion fac- tor. The single ended primary inductance converter (SEPIC) is a dc to dc converter topology that gives the positive desired output voltage from an input voltage. SEPIC is converter which gives the output as per requirement and at same time also ensures the power quality is good at the input side as well as the power factor at input is maintained near to unity at all times.
