The 21st century is an era of electronic devices, especially the Embedded Systems. The Embedded Systems are dedicated devices which perform their task in real time with pinpoint accuracy. Modern systems are relatively complex and they incorporate so many features that they have transformed our life completely. However, as the complexity of a system increases, its final cost also increases. This prevents the lower class of society from getting advantage of the latest technology because they can not afford such costly devices. Solving this problem can extend the reach of technology in the society. Keeping this point in mind, the central idea in this thesis work is to reduce the overall cost of an embedded system by using standard low cost microcontrollers. When used efficiently at their full capabilities, these low cost microcontrollers can perform equally well to the high-end controllers. They can even perform Digital Signal Processing in real-time upto some extent. The society can benefit greatly from such good quality and low cost products which are able to compete against existing costly solutions. It is expected that this thesis work will encourage the embedded system developers to come up with cost effective solutions.en_US
