dc.description.abstract | USB (Universal Serial Bus) is a standard that defines the cables, connectors and communication protocols used in a bus. It is used for connection, communication and power supply between Computer and Electronic Devices. USB 3.0 is the second major revision of the USB standard for computer connectivity. USB 3.0 adds a new transfer mode called Super Speed (distinguishable from USB 2.0 by either the blue colour of the port or the initials SS) capable of transferring data at 4.8 Gbit/s which is ten times faster than USB 2.0 where top speed is only 480 Mbit/s. Thesis contains an IP project in which the device drivers for USB 3.0 are made which support Mass Storage Function, HID (Human Interface Devices) Function and Video Function. The Xilinx Zynq ZC02 board is used as a embedded platform for this project. Enumeration happens based on which endpoint is enabled - Bulk Stream, Isochronous, Bulk or Interrupt. Host PC shows captured frames by camera module with transfer data rate information. Here, Zynq board operates as a USB camera attached to the PC. Similarly in the case of human interface devices and Mass Storage, Zynq Board operates as a keyboard and mass storage device respectively. Now a day OTG (On The Go) is very popular due to its flexibility to change role (host to device or device to host) without disconnecting cable. | en_US |
