dc.description.abstractThe Objective of the Thesis is to Design custom Product Lifecycle management HVAC manufacturing unit within Teamcenter (TC). The Customer is Auto Tier1 Supplier (biggest in Japan) and is into manufacturing of Air condition units for automobiles. The mother factory is in Japan and the sister concerns are in the foreign locations. The product has more than 300 variants with Minor change in design and manufacturing and have long life cycle. The further complexities faced by the customer are for each and every variant the customer has to handle CAD Data effectively. Along with creation of a separate EBOM and MBOM and BOP which are being done manually. The process planners in the mother factory have been following their traditional procedure in over 15 years. This would not be altered and rather would be mapped in the Teamcenter. The Solution proposal will be in two parts. One is design creation of standard part variants with NX part family. Here the integration of NX and excel software would be required ad the customer is comfortable only with handling Excel sheets. So for 300+ variants we would need 300+ variants part files which can be best handled by some integration of NX and Excel . Second is mapping its process into TC to capture their knowledge of process planning and share it with process planner in the other factories without changing the working procedure.en_US
