Abstract: The twin oil flooded twin screw compressor is a positive displacement machine used for compressing gases to moderate pressures. These compressors are widely used in industries. By studying fluid flow and heat transfer behavior inside of the compressor, it is possible to improve performance of the screw compressor. This study can be possible experimentally, analytically and numerically. Out of these numerical and analytical simulation of the screw compressor is included in the present study. The analysis of air flow through 22kW oil injected screw compressor, made up of N35 rotor profile, was carried out. Effect of various oil injection parameters such as oil to gas ratio, oil injection temperature, injection angle and droplet diameter on the performance of screw compressor is studied using thermodynamic modeling. Detailed study of flow physics through oil injected screw compressor can be possible using CFD modeling which is explored in present work.
