dc.description.abstract | Acne can occur at any age although it is a problem for most adolescents. Acne cuts across all barriers of race, age, culture and gender. There are different types of acne, Blackheads and whiteheads are the mildest case of acne. More severe acne lesions include Papules – inflamed lesions that appear as small, pink bumps on the skin, Pustules which is white or yellow pus-filled lesions can be red and nodules are large, painful, solid lesions lodged deep within the skin, cysts are deep, painful, pus-filled lesions which can cause scarring. There are many anti-acne products exists in a present cosmetic Indian market which include face wash , creams , gels ,soaps and lotions although there is very few novel topical delivery system formulations that can help to manage acne .One of the Novel Topical Delivery System formulation include microemulsion which is a promising delivery system. microemulsion are clear, stable, isotropic liquid mixtures of oil, water and surfactant and cosurfactant. Microemulsion systems have advantages over conventional emulsion in that way they are thermodynamically stable, long shelf life and compatibility in manufacturing. In recent years, popularity of microemulsion is increasing because they enhance the transdermal absorption of drug molecules by increasing solubility.Acne occurs due to bacteria Proprionibacterium acnes, which flourish in the sebum. Sebum is a oily mixture of lipids which is stimulated by sebaceous glands. Proprionibacterium acnes present in everybody’s skin layer but it gets accelerated when excess amount of sebum is present so to manage Proprionibacterium acnes it is necessary to add natural Anti-Microbial properties herbal active ingredient that can inhibit this bacteria such as Melaleuca alternifolia oil .Also containing another herbal active that exhibits keratolytic properties which affect on inflammatory acne and facilitates resolution of post inflammatory hyperpigmentation of face , such as Salix alba extract for the treatment of acne in the Novel Topical Delivery System Formulation Like serum. | en_US |
