The penetration of Doubly Fed Induction Generator(DFIG) based Wind Energy Conversion System (WECS) in power system is increasing day by day and a system operator is expected to tackle the issues like inertia reduction, short circuit levels, stability etc. A possible way to understand these issues is to model the DFIG based power system, observe its behavior and analyze the same. There has been such a modeling for SMIB system employing the wind generator as the source and its eigenvalue is analyzed in the literature. This paper is an extension to SMIB approach involving DFIG is employed to the analysis of WSCC 9 bus system where smallest synchronous generator replaced by DFIG. The results of the eigenvalue analysis is validated and presented herewith.en_US
