Wireless sensor network used in different applications like environment monitoring, military monitoring, forest monitoring and security and surveillance. Energy consumption is a major issue in WSNs. Wireless sensor network is mostly deployed in the remote area, sensor network uses non-rechargeable energy source, so the lifetime of the network depends on how effectively use the energy resources. So for effective utilization of energy resource, we apply the clustering method and meta-heuristic technique applied for measuring energy efficiency. So different meta-heuristic strategies are like, Particle swarm optimization, Ant colony optimization, Genetic Algorithm, Harmony search, Simulated Annealing and hybrid PSO-HSA to know that which protocol is best for energy expenditure. So our primary focus on the hybridization of particle swarm optimization with a harmony search algorithm to find better energy efficiency to improve the network lifetime. We conclude that a hybrid approach provides better outcomes than the individual results.en_US
