dc.description.abstractDevelopment Support Services (DSS) is an integral part of every software company, including Oracle Retail. It deals with Database and Server Monitoring, Server Maintenance, and Build and Packaging of products. The aim of this project was to reduce the tremendous amount of workload of the DSS, by contributing to some aspects of the responsibilities of the team. Consequently, one part of this project aims to automate various processes included in Database Administration, product deployments and implementations on specific environment and architectural platforms in a phased manner, covering each possible detail at every step. It involved the use of various software tools including Oracle Database 11g and 12c, WebLogic Server 11g and 12c and Linux OS Environment, and also the use of several Oracle documents, which will be explained in the Literature Survey section. Documentation is separate section which co-ordinates with other section within the firm by gathering information from each section and develops organized set of documents including User Manuals, User Guides, and Data Models etc. by using special purpose document processors used to handle complex documents such as Frame Maker, Arbortext etc.en_US
