Abstract: | The wide distribution of bisphenol A (BPA) in the environment is creates problem because of its endocrine-disrupting characteristics and toxicity. Developing cost-effective remediation methods for wide implementation is difficult. Therefore, this study investigated the BPA biodegradation ability of various microorganisms. Bacterial strains having Bisphenol A (BPA) tolerance were isolated from contaminated water samples From Bhavnagar, Gujrat. Five different bacteria, designated as I-1, I-2, I-3, I-4 and I-5. So the combination of I-4 and I-5 showed the best degradation efficiency at 141rpm in Basal Salt medium with 100ppm BPA.and Bacterial concentration was 200 µL. The best degradation was obtained at 48 h for this two combination isolates biodegradation exhibited at 37 °C at natural pH. Sample were used to analyze by HPLC. Mixture matrix design model were used to increase degradation of BPA .Bacterial strains activity studied in Nutrient Broth medium for all bacterial strain. Spectrophotometer were used to measure absorbance. All bacterial strain activity in nutrient broth were measured at OD600 after every 30 minute of interval. Extraction process were used to characteristic BPA and its bio transformed product degradation by HPLC and FT-IR. Isolates were identified using 16s rRNA where 27F and 149R primers used.I-1, I-2, I-3, I-4 and I-5 were identified. |
