Abstract: Systems which control the motion of electrical machines are called electric drives. Over the last four decades, with the ongoing development and innovation in automatic control, computing and power electronics technologies, electric drive technology is witnessing a new revolution. Different new functionalities are introduced in the new generation drives to broaden the support of various industrial application. However, the functionalities should be tested so that it will be a bug free product in the market. The main objective of this project is to carry out drive functional testing in an environment called Automated Test Framework (ATF). The tools that are being used are- C sharp (C#) programming language for developing the test scripts, NI Instruments for IO Interface, AC500 PLC for fieldbus, Test runner to run the ATF test script, Drive Composer Pro – for manual testing in some cases.
