dc.description.abstractQualitative and quantitative analysis plays a vital role in ensuring the safety and efficacy of drugs in different dosage forms. A detailed literature survey is one of the most essential requirements for all focussed research activities. Leukotriene antagonists are widely used for the treatment and management of asthma in different dosage forms. Leukotriene antagonists, being potent drugs present special challenges in the development and validation of analytical methods from a variety of matrices. A sincere attempt has been made in the present review to compile literature published in various analytical and pharmaceutical journals for the determination of various leukotriene antagonists in a variety of matrices both individually and in combination with other drugs. It covers almost all analytical methods published for leukotriene antagonists between the years 1995 to 2014. Among different methods, HPLC, UV-Visible spectro photometry and spectrofluorimetry are the most widely preferred techniques applied by the world over researchers. Detailed validation parameters are also given for the methods, which helps the researchers to select an analytical technique based on the information sought.en_US
