Recent urbanization of India has made many cities eligible for metros. However, construction in these densely populated areas, without disturbing the regular public transport and for speedy construction of that rail network, segmental bridge construction is one of the best option. For design the segmental bridge, most important thing is its construction methodology & to provide prestressing of a segment to make them act as a single unit. Present study has been divided into two parts. First part includes the theoretical study for understanding the codal provision for Ultimate Limit State, and Serviceability Limit State of Indian Rail Standard (IRS-concrete bridge code) and Indian Road Congress (IRC:112-2011). Second part includes detail analysis and design of super-structure by both methods and their comparison. Analysis of super-structure is performed using STAAD.Pro software. Load combinations are considered as per IRC-6:2016 and IRS-CBC for design. Design of super-structure (Box girder) is divided in three parts, deck slab with help of transverse analysis, design of soffit slab with help of longitudinal and transverse analysis, and design of web with help of out of plan bending and Shear. Parametric study of super-structure is performed for spans varying from 19m to 40m with the increment of 3m for both the code IRC-112:2011 and IRS-CBC.en_US
