Nanotechnology is defined as a science which deals with design, characterization, production and application of particle having controlled sized and shape (approx. < 100nm). In today’s science nano-biointeraction are in current trend, it is the interaction of nanomaterial with biological system.Nanoparticles are exposed to different living cell such as plant, animal, tissues etc. to check the biological outcome at genetic level (genotoxicity). Thus the size and the shape of a nanoparticle may contribute to the onset of cytotoxicity. Nanoparticle can be chemically synthesized which is coated with polymers, drugs, fluorophores, peptides, proteins or oligonucleotide and eventually introduced into the animal model and cell culture Nanoparticles are initially consider as benign carrier but later study shows that their interaction with the serum protein and cell membrane receptors are determined by their design, influencing cell uptake, gene expression and toxicity. Our approach is to study the genotoxicity of engineered silver nanoparticle and Rajata Bhasma. To check the genotoxicity level of the silver nanoparticle we have performed CBMN assay, SCE assay and COMET assay, which showed that the toxicity of AgNPs at higher concentration as compared to the lower concentration. The experiment was done with three different concentration of the test sample in duplicates, and the experiment was repeated three times.en_US
