Abstract: With the development of the NX platform, more and more applications are being built on the NX platform following the plug and play mechanism and various existing applications are either being modularized or being moved on the NX platform. In all cases, the NX platform will be a common block and the application blocks will be the only variables that will change depending on the application being launched or installed. Now the startup time of any application has to be appropriate so the users do not have to wait too long just for the application to start. Also lighter applications (need low end hardware) will be needed to startup faster than heavier applications (need high end hardware) and that would be the general expectation of users. Currently the NX startup time trend shows that it has been growing with the newer development being done in the newer releases. The NX performance is being tracked regular interval and also release over release and problem reports are being filed whenever performance degradation is observed. This NX startup time i.e. both cold startup and warm startup is a very important factor for various applications and many new applications are expecting a reduction in the NX startup time. This project thus, aims at improving the NX startup performance. To improve NX startup, tasks done which are, Handing .dpx file for different lan- guages, Mapping directory structure for manifest file, remove warnings from schema files, printing all dll file name in syslog Using multi-threading. Due to this task time is get reduced by 2914 ms.
