Abstract: Molded Case Circuit Breaker (MCCB) is widely used for protection against over-load and short circuit condition. In present scenario of MCCB of 250A frame, the ultimate and service short circuit breaking capacity is 25kA. When various industries, power station and shopping malls were study, it was observed that, there is requirement of 36kA MCCB in 250A frame. This gives us a way ahead to develop similar frame in 250A frame. Development of 36kA frame will be achieved by doing modification in the present system and present components with the same structure available. Biggest challenge in this project is frame size will remain same. Based on the outcomes of detail study, simulation results and actual product testing new concept for the MCCB will be develop. Designing and simulating software will be using for 3D modeling of the proposed designs.
