To improve the efficiency of industries, work-done through man power is now re- placed with automatic machines. Automation in industries reduces production cost and improves quality & reliability. At present, cement bags distribution systems in packing plant of cement industry are manually operated. These systems are bulky and cannot distribute cement bags on multiple conveyors simultaneously; moreover to activate this system conveyor has to be stopped. On other end at loading station, semi-automatic truck loading machine is used. In this machine cement bags are manually loaded into trucks. Plant has capacity to produce 3000 bags per hour. Such production rate cannot be handled manually. To overcome this problem it is important to divert cement bags on multiple secondary conveyors so it can be distributed at different loading stations simultaneously to synchronize with semiautomatic truck loading system. To address the problem mentioned above, fully automated system has to be designed and developed. An automatic cement bag diverter with control system has been proposed and a conceptual design has been presented in this thesis, also a prototype of the proposed cement bag diverter has been deployed and the fullest capacity of cement plant has been achieved.en_US
