Bearings are the machine parts used to transmit power, motion or to support the rotating shafts. There is huge range of bearings available in the market for various applications. Contact bearings are widely used in industrial machineries. Lubrication is important in bearings while transmitting high power or high speed motion. There are various kind of lubrications being used for various bearings. Grease and oils are generally used as a lubricant in contact type of bearings. In this project, oil-jet lubrication system is being considered to be analyzed. The oiljet lubrication is used in some of the high speed transmissions. Oil flow lubricates and cool down the heated bearing parts. To increase heat dissipation, analysis of oil flow around the bearing surface is necessary. Analysis of oil flow and various parameters of heat transfer through ball bearing is done in this project. The oil flow is analyzed using Computational Fluid Dynamics method using Ansys software which has inbuilt CFD formulations and good graphical simulation abilities. Eight different cases were analyzed and the results were compared. The results of the analysis shows that the lubrication system having incline nozzle positions and multiple outlets provides better results.en_US
