dc.description.abstract | Design and analysis of different jacket diaphragm for glass lined pressure vessel is carried out at Swiss Glascoat Equipment's Company Limited at Vitthal Udyo- gnagar (V U Nagar, Anand). In this work, design of ring type and cone type diaphragm is carried outusing the ASME code section VIII division and the anal- ysis work is carried out by using software ANSYS version R17.1. In present work, mild steel material SA516 Gr60 has been used for the diaphragm. The solid model is created in creo parametric 3.0 based on the standard design and same is used for static structural, modal and thermal analysis of diaphragm of both ring type and cone type. In static structural analysis of ring and cone type diaphragm,the resuls obtained in terms of von misses stress is 156.22 MPa and 168.99 MPa respectively which is below the yield strength of the material 250 MPa. In modal analysis of ring type, the number of modes and frequencies are obtained from modal solution. The operating frequency of diaphragm is 2000 Hz which is not matching with the obtained frequency. In thermal analysis, the operating temperature is considered as 200oC and its maximum deformation of ring type is 0.79831 mm & cone type is 0.32689 mm, which is less than the operating range. The final result shows that both ring type and cone type design is safe and cone type can bear more stress then ring type. | en_US |
