Abstract: | It is important in software industry to deliver the right product at the right time to customer with all the quality checks. Manual testing becomes difficult and time consuming if one tries various input combinations. Moreover, it is costly to manu- ally analyze all results. This project is motivated by the drawbacks of manual testing and how to overcome those drawbacks using automated tools. In case of manual testing, changes in source code, hardware configuration or operating system leads to repetition of whole process. These efforts can be reduced by means of an automation. Oracle wanted to explore new retail democracy and to establish what opportunities are available for retailers to differentiate and grow their business in a crowded market dominated by consumer power, the global market place and brand convergence. Retail Merchandising System (RMS) is the key retail products provided by Oracle Retail which covers a large range of functionalities. All essential aspects of a retail organization such as storing item, store,Stock count, supplier, customer, merchandiser information along with order management, etc. can be done through this system. It also acts as a central hub between all other retail products like Planning, Demand Forecast, Allocation, Price Management, etc., therefore making it essential to distribute data across all these products correctly and efficiently. The second product which I will be covering is SIM (Store Inventory Management).Oracle Retail Store Inventory Management (SIM) helps store personnel to perform many in-store operations : Receive merchandise from the warehouse or directly from vendors , Replenish and order stock ,Request and implement price changes, Transfer , Manage customer orders. There is one more tool on which I have worked on. The name of the tool is Database Instance Extractor. The main purpose of this tool is to take snapshot of entire database. The aim of using this tool is we can compare two database instances if need. |
