Abstract: | Oracle Retail Merchandising System, in short, it is abbreviated as ORMS is one of the markets leading integrated merchandising solutions provided for retailers. The solution enables and makes easy for the retailers to better manage, control and perform crucial day-to-day retail merchandising activities by allowing the user to create new product introduction to automated replenishment to financial inventory valuation. The Oracle Retail Merchandising System is an enhanced application which supports multiple curren- cies for trading between different countries and multiple languages support for accessing the application in locale based user language at a single instance. To ensure that the application has multiple language support we have used certain measures for the solution to make it multi-byte enabled which is specific to Persian and Arabic languages and also made available to support for 18 different languages as standard. The provision is made to add new languages that can easily be added, as translations are externalized from the base application code. Resolved the ambiguity of translation of string to particular user language from a string based to context based approach. By providing a multi-language support for the application the result of which has made it enabled for easier adaptation of the software application to multiple locales. Reduced the time and cost for localization and simpler maintenance with the reduced overall cost of ownership of the multiple versions of the product adhering to international standards. With deep exploration and research for the solution, the installer is made enabled with multi-language support and install application and database which indeed helped in improving quality and code architecture by minimizing the usage of concatenated strings as well as independence from specific cultural conventions.
