Abstract: NDN (Named Data Networking) or CCN (Content Centric Networking) are the contem- porary architectural approaches based on publish/subscribe based data exchanges. The architecture of Named Data Networking relies on sending the data packets to specific locations not by address, but by name. These technologies solve the issues related to IP based communication. Also, it mitigates the digital distribution and management issues. Producer is the one, responsible for generating the data. The user of this data is called consumer here. To verify the authenticity of the content, the content producer signs the content. This work deals with the design and generation of various activities and the related contents. To ensure message integrity and authenticity, several signature generation and verification algorithms are implemented in NDN. As each data packet is signed in NDN, provisioning of various security aspects become inevitable. Accordingly, the public key management requires efficient signing methodology. In this work, several signature generation methods like SHA256RSA, ECDSA, ED255219, Rabin-Williams etc. are implemented and verified for effciency in terms of latency. The objective is to en- sure digital signature with minimal latency. Hence, it is desirable to improve security in Named Data Networking by faster signature generation and verification.
