Abstract: High end server board using intel xeon processor requires configuration. Server board's performance and efficiency depends on few Best Known Configuration (BKC). To achieve increased throughput and predictability of quality for the testing of such configuration the industries are moving towards automation. The testing of con- figurations are carried out using shell script and scripting language like python in Linux environment. Automation platform using Single Board Computer (SBC) like Raspberry-Pi can be used to validate the BKC on the server boards. The communi- cation between SBC and server board is carried out through serial communication port. Python scripts are written in SBC to con gure the server board. Test cases were designed to validate the BKC on server board. For the validation purpose the received data from the server board is parsed to SBC. The test cases are supposed in such a way that they cover a wide range of domains like Networking, Power and Performance Management, CPU, Memory, Security, Storage, Stress, USB and Driver Integration. It resulted in the outcome of 82% of automation and the human errors got eliminated at its best possible extent. Developed scripts are capable of triggering multiple number of test cases over all domains at one go. By applying these changes the automation has reached to next level of accuracy. The future of this automation can be imagined over network mode or the node automation. In which the specific micro-controller would be integrated and test cases would be triggered on the multiple platforms simultaneously using one Host over network.
