dc.description.abstractIn today’s scenario, every product may work stand-alone, however the product will be more effective if accessories are used along with. The main reason behind this is the ease of use and the increase in automation level. There are so many products available in the market for the use of the customers, but if the customer gets the product along with the suitable accessories, it enhances product features and in turn the usability of the product. This leads to improve the customer satisfaction. The combination of product and its accessory must work simultaneously just like marriage-based combination. The increased of the cost of the product i.e. along with the accessories is compensated by its enhanced reliability and the quality of the product. In this project work, the accessories of MCCB are designed to fulfill the demands of customers by making product more qualitative and reliable (by providing suitable accessories along with the product). MCCBs are basically, Short Circuit Protective Device (SCPD). MCCB protects electrical load against short circuit and overload faults, which can damage electrical appliances and may lead to unsafe conditions at the site of installation. L&T offers various range of MCCBs, with external accessories which are Rotary Operator and Motorized Operator. Rotary Operator can be used when the MCCB is installed in panels. The mechanism of this accessory is directly attached to the MCCB and converts the movement of toggle handle into rotation. Motorized Operator is also mounted on MCCB and make the operation remote controlled. We can operate the MCCB from the control room with the help of Motorized Operator. In this project, the challenge is to make the external accessories more reliable and enhanced quality while operating with MCCB. During the scope of the project, various stages of product reliability enhancement such as project definition, component measurement, detailed analysis, concept development, prototyping, validation testing, product design release, improvement and its sustainability is worked upon.en_US
