Abstract: Cryostat is a cylindrical vacuum vessel which is divided into major four segments (Base section, Lower Cylinder, Upper Cylinder and Top Lid) and further also each segment is divided into sectors for the manufacturing and transportation feasibility. All the section of ITER Cryostat has to be aligned with the pit coordinates in radial as well as in toroidal direction. A tool is needed to align the sections of the cryostat. Each section need different tool to align the section in the pit. For alignment of Base Section & Lower Cylinder, alignment tool and procedure is made. Conceptual modeling of alignment tool has been carried out in CATIA software. Manual calculation for jack capacity has been carried out for rotation and translation of Base section & Lower Cylinder. Meshing of the components of alignment has been done using HYPERMESH tool. Analysis has been done using ANSYS.
