dc.description.abstractEthylene Oxide is widely used chemical in industrial processes like plastics, automobile, hospital etc. As Ethylene Oxide is extensively used it has to be transported from one place to another place. For transportation rigid chassis mounted transport tanks are widely used for transporting fluids. So Ethylene Oxide can be transported by rigid chassis mounted transport tank. But as Ethylene Oxide is highly toxic and flammable in nature so it is very crucial to transport it in Indian atmospheric condition. A transport tank of Ethylene Oxide includes Inner Vessel at -10oC temperature and 7.5 kg/cm2 pressure and Outer Vessel which will be at atmospheric pressure and temperature. For maintaining temperature inside an inner vessel, vacuum is generated by filling perlite insulation in powder between inner vessel and outer vessel. For designing Ethylene Oxide transport tank ASME, CGA codes and other standards are used. In the dissertation work Inner vessel and Outer vessel is designed and all its connections are also been selected or designed according to codes and standards. At each nozzle openings and at support system between inner and outer vessel FE analysis is done for validating design of transport tank containing Ethylene Oxide.en_US
