In industries, application like three phase induction motor, synchronous motors, induction furnaces etc., MCCBs are widely used. These loads are generally three phase or three phase with neutral type and used for various types of duties. Therefore, protection of these applications against short circuit and over load faults is very critical. Moulded Case Circuit Breaker (MCCB) is an ideal Short Circuit Protective Devices (SCPD) which provides both overload and short circuit fault protection. Current rating of 250A;frame:1 MCCB is ranging from 100A to 250A.It is the most compact MCCB in its segment. Project scope is to improve reliability of this MCCB both in terms of type tests and routine tests. Short circuit fault performance improvement will be the prime objective of this project, as this is the most severe test fault. Project's critical activity includes: Probable cause identification, generation of ideas/concept for improvement, theoretical analysis, simulate these ideas in 3D model and FEM software and validation of the concepts to choose best solution for implementation.en_US
