A Molded Case Circuit Breaker (MCCB) is one which is accumulated in closed housing of insulating material for making, carrying and breaking currents under normal and abnormal condition. It should be work acceptably under overload, short circuit and earth fault condition as per design specification. Molded Case Circuit Breakers are mainly designed to deliver protection to low voltage systems. This Project is specifically focus on assembly line productivity yield concerns. The yield of Thermal release is affected by the performance ability of the bi metal to trip the tripping system with consistency. Hence improvement in bi metal tripping performance to be enhance. The yield of Magnetic released is affected by the performance of magnetic cores (ability of pick-up in Trip current & deliver required tripping force). Improvement in magnetic system will be done. MCCB also uses accessories such as Under-Voltage release (UVR) & Shunt release (SR) for protection. Problems such as high peak up, low drop o_, humming after peak up and low trip force are associated with these accessories which are to be improved (w.r.t. design specification band) for better performance and line production yield.en_US
