Abstract: Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) technology is one of the latest trend in various industries which has changed the way automation is done. Data sharing on real time basis and without requirement of line of sight are the most important advantages of using this technology, as the communication within the supply chain becomes quick and efficient. Though the technology seems very promising, very few organizations have adopted the technology. This paper focuses on the challenges an organization faces while deciding whether to adopt the technology or not. The implications of the research yield, the factors that become the biggest challenge in adoption of the technology namely Technical challenge, Organizational challenge and Business challenge.
