Abstract

Retail Merchandising Foundation Cloud Service is one of the markets leading inte- grated merchandising solutions provided for retailers.It is the version of Retail Merchan- dising System which provides the service through the cloud platform. The solution makes

an easy way for the retailers to manage, control and perform crucial day-to-day retail merchandising activities in a better way by allowing the them to use the various retail based modules like Item Maintenance, Inventory, Transfers,etc. It allows user to monitor all the transactions and to analyze that.

A rapid development is performed on this system. As this solution supports multiple modules, there are rapid client requirements that comes for any of them. So as per the requirements those feature development is done. After the development, the crucial job is to integrate those with the existing module. After all these, the application is deployed on the cloud. Apart from the Features development, there are the batch processes which are updated as per the requirement to maintain the system.

Mass data insertion from the Retailer’s device file to the System for the various mod- ules like Transfers, Purchase orders,etc is the crucial requirement. These modules were

not having the feature which can let them to insert more than one items to the system database. After the study and research, we made a feature named upload list for these modules from which Retailer can easily insert the data by using a file upload. All the validations will be done on the hundreds or thousands of items based on the module requirement and only the valid items will be inserted into the Database.

As this product is a cloud based application, multiple clients have the various en- hancement as well as patch requirements. So Bug fixes and branch maintenance for each

client go in parallel with the development. Apart from this, for better performance and space management, we have also enhanced the purge and archive modules which work as a background process.
