dc.description.abstract | A circuit breaker is an electrical switch which is designed and manufactured to protect an electrical circuit from the damages which are caused by excessive and alternating currents in the circuit. Lower contact is an integral part of circuit breaker which plays a major role in the protection of the circuit breaker. The current passing from circuit breaker ows through the contacts from one pole to the other pole. Thus, this setup aims at designing a setup which carries out contact resistance test over the lower contact part and calculate the voltage drop across the contact through mili volt probes and mili volt drop tester. The voltage drop achieved after numerous attempts must be in range which is pre-defined. The motive of the setup was achieved by attaining the voltage drop range on numerous contact parts which were tested and as well as checked over the scragging assembly for smooth and required proper motion of the upper arm of lower contact part. | en_US |
