Abstract: | The present work addresses issues of improvement in quality and reliability of the Dsine series MCCB. Every manufacturer struggles to capture new market and to maintain the existing customers.Market offers number of products to use for the customer. If more qualitative product with more performance but with equivalent cost is delivered , it will improve the product features and will aid in attaining customer satisfaction.Main objective of this project work is to fulfill the demands of customers by making product more competitive by providing more quality and reliability. During the manufacturing of the MCCB various problems are faced which can greatly decrease the quality as well as the reliability of the MCCB, The Dsine series breakers faces main two problems , namely thermal tripping and the safety issues. The stated problems are quite common in all the breakers, In this project, the main focus is to develop and implement the alternate material for the component known as Drive-shaft pin. The breaker series DN0 from the whole Dsine series is selected for the trials since working principle for all the breakers is same. This drive-shaft pin connects the contacts with the drive-shaft, and it is connected with the mechanism by means of linkages. In MCCB The mechanism plays a vital role since it is directly operated by the user by means of fork. Due to direct connections of the contacts and the mechanism , there is a possibility of current leakage on the fork. In order to avoid this the alternate development of material is done. Another development is done in the tripping efficiency of the Dsine series breaker. Value engineering of the component known as Bimetal is done in order to increase the reliability of the breaker and to decrease the overall cost of the breaker. During the execution of this work, the main confrontation is to increase the reliability and quality of the the Dsine series MCCBs during normal operation. Various steps involving the product value engineering such as a clear Project definition, component measurement for data acquisition , Data analysis, initial concept development, Prototype manufacturing, Validation testing, component design approval, implement, and its continuous analysis is carried out. |
