dc.description.abstractAs the non-renewable sources are now at the edge of end the whole world is moving towards the renewable source. The aim of this research is also moving towards renewable source like wind energy. Many research has been done for open area and how wind mill is use to convert wind energy into electricity by designing a wind turbine for open area. But in this research a wind turbine is design for a congested area like industry. The research is done on vertical axis wind turbine only because they are independent of wind direction and can generate electricity even at low wind speed. The research is done on savonious wind turbine which is a simple type of vertical axis wind turbine. All the design parameters are selected on the basis of previous researches and a turbine is design which can produce a torque greater then a start up torque of available generator. After designing the savonius turbine the next step is to improve the efficiency of turbine. In this research two methods are implemented to improve the efficiency of savonius rotor and the best method is selected. The main aim of the research is to attached the turbine between two silos to take the advantage of the pressure drop between silos. So for the attachment of the turbine support structure and shaft is design in combine loading conditions. And after the designing the support structure and turbine ,modal analysis is perform to find out the first three natural frequencies of both turbine and support structure and the savonius wind turbine is check for resonanceen_US
