Abstract: | In tall buildings, governing load is lateral load, wind load speci cally. To resist this lateral load, there are many lateral load resisting systems. The latest lateral load resisting system used is Buttressed core system. So the complete rigorous study regarding buttressed core structural system is carried out. In this study, di erent parameters like modal mass par- ticipation ratio, Torsional irregularity check, diaphragm exibility check and story drift, displacement and time period is studied. In this study, a building with 36 m 36 m plan dimension with buttressed core sys- tem of 50, 70 90 storey is considered in the study under wind and earthquake load. The type of building considered is residential and is located in Ahmedabad. The type of soil considered is Medium type of soil. Typical oor height considered is 3.5m. The material for construction considered is R.C.C. M40 grade and steel Fe500. In loading live load is considered as 3 kN/m2 and Dead load is self weight of the structural element. After anal- ysis various parameters like Modal mass participation factor, displacement, storey drift and time period are studied and its behaviour is understood. The comparative study of buttressed core system with shear-wall structural system is carried out. In which the modal mass participation of torsional mode and torsional irregularity is compared for 50, 70 and 90 storey building of both the structural system. After analysis, it is observed that torsion resisting capacity of buttressed core system is higher than normal shear-wall structural system. |
