Abstract: Virtualization is now widely popular in the world and many industries have recognized the value of its techniques. It is involved in many applications where the organization requires to deploy multiple servers due to the limitations of x86 servers. This technology provides an increase in resource utilization and also helps in reduced capital and operating costs, thus providing simple data center management. This report explains virtualization and hypervization, here Kernel-based Virtual Machine hypervisor is used. While working virtually then because of the switching between host, hypervisor, and guest, there will be performance overheads compare to the program being run on host machine natively vs inside a virtual machine. So when things are performed and used virtually i.e in Virtual Machine then the performance is not exact as the native machine due to overhead, this overhead can be reduced by performing a few tests in Virtual Machine and then analyzing and setting benchmarks. This report shows different test performed in bare metal and Kernel-based Virtual Machine and then comparing them to improve and get the best and maximum performance from Virtual Machine.
