Abstract: | In last few decades, all the modern and luxuries automobiles are equipped with embedded electronic devices or systems which consists of many Electronic Controller Units, sensors, communication protocol, buses, signals and coding. As these highly complex applications are solely dependent on electrical and electronics component, it Becomes very important to analyze the potential risk of malfunction or failure of this systems. IEC 61508 is the foundation of international standards of safety related systems like medical equipment, airborne systems like aircraft sensor equipment and its control, railways, nuclear power plants, machinery development, Automobiles, Energy & its process systems and furnaces controls. The failures of such systems can lead to catastrophic hazard or loss to large group of peoples. This leads us to identify all the requirements so that the system is functionally safe. Due to this, one general document wouldn’t be so effective, therefore ISO 26262 was introduced in November 2011 specifically for Electric /Electronic systems in automotive which mainly focuses upon the complete safety installation of sensor, actuators, controllers and processors with its technical and management issues. In this report, main focus is on verification and validation of several block of FuSa IP situated on the SoC or nearby SoC and the all the communication protocols and bus architecture connected to this IP. Here, software validation of a complete module i.e. understanding the specification and functionality, developing test plan and test case for it and executing it. Updating various platform components to its best known configuration and executing the basic acceptance test on every release iteration of firmware. Understanding the bare metal test and validation of hardware was carried out in second half along with test automation and clean-up. |
