dc.description.abstractA press brake is a machine pressing tool for bending sheet and plate material, most commonly sheet metal. It forms predetermined bends by clamping the work piece between a matching punch and die. In this project, the hydraulic press brake is the system to be worked upon. A hydraulic press brake has a major component – table, upper beam, lever and side plate. The objective of the project is to reduce the overall weight of the system. Through the process of reducing the major parts of the system are worked upon. Necessary stress analysis and displacement analysis is carried out using FEA tool and software ANSYS while the CAD modelling is done with PTC creo 4.0.en_US
