Abstract: | The VOIP application needs call progress tones to give us the audio queues to know the status of the call. The DSPG platform has wrapper APIs to configure the tone frequency which will generate different tones. The tone generated will have different frequency, cadence and volume. This API will be plugged in an existing user-driven VOIP application. This API is embedded in an existing VOIP application which works on SIP protocol using RTP. The VOIP application works by exchanging signaling messages. The tones played by the API are Dial Tone, Ringing Tone, Busy Tone, Holding Tone, call waiting Tone etc. This DSPG DVF chip is embedded inside VOIP phones and will be used to give audio queues in VOIP calls. Along with the call progress tones audio tuning is needed to be done to configure the DSP modules and hardware registers to function in such a way that they give better audio quality. The data fetched of the all the units, elements and parameters and is utilized by other APIs for quicker execution. VOIP uses SIP as a signaling protocol and the protocols do not wait for responses or acknowledgements for infinite amount of time and hence it needs a timer module which will wait for a specifies timeout interval and executes the callback function. |
