Abstract: The Internet of Things has taken the world to a new generation where every object is connected to the internet forming a dynamic network which includes other objects in order to communicate with each other with the help of sensors, actuators and other instruments which acts upon the given data. Due to the immense use of the internet and the need for the automation, IoT has become a solution for many big problems and is now a communication bridge between the humans and the physical objects. With the use of IoT as the communication bridge between the humans and the physical world, the concept of smart homes, smart cities, where the data gets stored in the sensors and actuators, has been introduced. The data that gets collected is either used to predict the future events or used to come to the conclusion. But the cost of installing and maintaining it is too high. Now, this concept has been used to check the quality of water where the sensors are attached to each other and also the cost efficiency is also kept in mind in order to make it as cheap as possible. A hardware, consists of TDS sensors, Flow sensors and Pressure sensors, is connected with the RO plant which calculates TDS score, Flow score and Pressure Score when a stream of water flows through it. Based on the scores that gets displayed to the user, the quality of water is decided. On concluding the hardness/softness of water based on the displayed scores, the user determines whether the water is drinkable or not. The flow and the pressure scores are used to analyze whether the RO plant is working properly or not. The user can act upon the problems if he notices the sudden fluctuations in the scores and can prevent huge damages.
