dc.description.abstractDiabetic macular edema is uttermost severe forms of vision deterioration which results in vision disability. There are many factors involved in the pathogenesis of macular edema. At any point of diabetic retinopathy it can be detect. The diagnosis and treatment of DME have been simple with recent advancements in the field of fundus imaging, such as optical coherence tomography. Laser photocoagulation is the preferred treatment for macular edema. In cases which do not respond to laser therapy, multiple therapeutic options were suggested. It suggests that combination pharmacology and surgical intervention are the safest method to treating macular edema of diabetic patients. Throughout the study, epidemiology, Pathophysiology, evaluation and recent developments in the management of DME was well-discussed.en_US
