Abstract: | Diabetes disorder can occur if the condition is not be treated quickly and properly. Diabetes tends to be caused by a loss of antioxidants and a rise in free radicals. Excess glucose can be harmful in many forms to cells, two of which are the development of Advanced Glycation End products (AGEs) and free radicals such as O2-OH. Most of these are caused by too much glucose at least in part. The Greek physician Aeretaeus coined the term DIABETES in the 1st century, Willis found that “Wonderfully sweet as if imbued with honey or sugar was the urine of diabetes” in the 1700s. There is an increase in the number of people with vascular problems in areas with a high risk of developing cardiovascular disease. There is a ten-fold increase in peripheral vascular disease and a three-fold increased in vascular disease mortality. The number of cancer causing cardiovascular diseases has increased by four-fold in people at high risk for development of these disorders. These antioxidants have been involved in tumors, neurodegenerative disease of atherosclerosis, and cardiac disease in transgenic mice. There are more people with cardiovascular disease in people with high-risk vascular problems. These patients have had a fourfold rise in the occurrence of coronary arteries. There has been an increase of people suffering from cardiovascular disease-caused cancers. There have been more people dying from cardiovascular diseases in the U.S. in the past two years than in the previous three years combined. |
