dc.description.abstract | The COVID-19 epidemic has given a rise to several issues in day-to-day lives worldwide. The unpredictability of the pandemic has also steered to varied psychological impacts, which can be aggravated with safety and preventive measures such as social distancing and self quarantining. People faced many hurdles to survive in this pandemic, but in doing so the significant rise in stress was observed in different age groups due to various reasons. The aim of our study is to find out the major causes behind psychological impacts on people of different age group and who were most affected by the COVID-19 pandemic. We performed an analytical observational study, were we surveyed n=414 people providing them with the form of questionnaire. In this study, prominent reasons were included to find out that how the Covid19’ affected the mental health of people from different age group. Job insecurity, lack of socialisation, reduction in salary, concern about family, social media affection, sleeping problem and inhibition from daily activities were the major factors leading to stress and anxiety. From the study, major depressive symptoms were found in the age group of 20-29 years as they were feeling tired, trouble in sleep and difficulty in concentration were mostly observed. Maximum anxiety symptoms were found in the age group of 20-29 years participants, all the people of these age group were nervous and had a feeling regarding awful situations. So, in COVID 19' pandemic, it is significant to understand hoe COVID19'and associated lockdowns had have affected the mental health of the people. | en_US |
