dc.description.abstractResveratrol has potential applications in colorectal cancer treatment but its slow water solubility, poor bioavailability, and high first-pass metabolism restraint its usage. On that account aim of this work was to formulate and characterize Resveratrol-loaded Nanostructured Lipid Carrier for the treatment of colon cancer. Nanostructured Lipid Carriers (NLCs) with Resveratrol were formulated using the Hot High Shear Homogenization technique and the effect of various process parameters such as surfactant type, surfactant concentration, and homogenization speed was analyzed for NLCs. For formulation, Compritol HD5 ATO and Triacetin (Glycerol Triacetate) were selected as solid lipid and liquid lipid respectively based on high solubility of resveratrol in them and Tween- 80 as surfactant based on low solubility. Further NLCs were characterized for particle size, zeta potential, polydispersity index, differential scanning calorimetry (DSC), Entrapment Efficiency, and In Vitro drug release. Optimized Resveratrol-loaded NLCs showed optimum particle size 204.3 ± 5.16nm, entrapment efficiency 69.17 ± 2.7%. And In vitro drug release profile up to 24 hours that confirms controlled release. The promising results from this work strongly favor the potential of NLCs in supplementing the effect of Resveratrolen_US
