Generally analog controllers are auto-tuned in the industry based on experience and in case of lesser known systems (process model is not known exactly), trial and error methods are used. Thus our aim was to create an interactive and user friendly MATLAB based GUI (Graphical User interface) which generates tuning parameters for any system transfer function entered by the user. These tuning parameters were then to be used to design and simulate six forms of digital PID controllers and a Pole-placement controller in GUI. These controllers are 2-DOF (Degree of freedom) controllers which unlike conventional 1-DOF controllers, simultaneously and efficiently perform the task of set-point tracking and disturbance rejection in a systemen_US
