Abstract: General solutions for determining the stress fields around circular hole in infinite plate subjected to arbitrary biaxial loading are obtained using cl>mplex variable approach. The arbitrary biaxial loading condition is applied to facilitate consideration of any biaxial loading.. The stress functions are obtained by evaiuating Cauchy's integral for the given boundary conditions. The generalized formulation thus obtained is coded and few numerical results are obtained u~ing MA TLAB 6.5. The stress fields obtained using complex variable method is compared with the results obtained from finite element method (ANSYS).
