Biomass gasification is a good possible alternative to the direct use of fossil fuel energy. Biomass can contribute to the demand for heat, electricity and syngas. The operating parameters such as time, temperature, equivalent ratio (ER), Steam to fuel ratio (S: F) play an important role in the performance of gasifier. In this review paper, the comparison of different aspects for 10KWe downdraft gasifier with different feedstocks is reviewed. These aspects are proximate-Ultimate analysis, syngas composition, ER, S: F, particle size, fuel consumption, heating value of fuel and syngas. The comparisons of various aspects are tabulated through temperature verses time, gas composition verses time and many more. India’s high per-capita production of biomass and its heavy dependence on oil for energy provide attractive conditions for a large-scale energy from biomass gasification method.en_US
